The project area is located within the boundaries of the Akmeşe village, with its rear surrounded by a forest and its front facing sloping terrains overlooking valleys. The Weekend House aims to offer an atmosphere that integrates with its context by making the most effective use ofthe beauties of nature with its location.
The project architects have taken on both the roles of designers and users by designing their own weekend houses. They embarked on the design with the goal of creating a harmonious, intimate, and modest space that blends with nature. This design approach aims to reinterpret the traditional village fabric to create a contemporary structure.
In the design, which evokes the feeling of a "house hidden within nature," the horizontal and vertical elements of the structure are proportionally planned to avoid competing with nature. In the general design of the building with a steel structure, the structural elements are made visible and clear lines are created in the silhouette.
Seating areas, outdoor dining spaces, a barbecue area, and yoga platforms are part of the arrangement, supporting a lifestyle provided by nature. The main goal is to spend time in harmony with nature.
The living area has an open plan arrangement on one floor. The high ceilings give the space a spacious feel, allowing the view to be dominated. A slim window opening from the wall to the ceiling of the design creates a skylight that enhances natural light intake. A fireplace and woodstove are planned to add a warm atmosphere to the main living area. The bedrooms are located in a two-story section with large window openings, providing a panoramic forest view.
The Akmeşe Weekend House is a structure that offers aspecial living space for architects seeking to escape the noise of modern life and aiming to integrate with nature. Embracing simplicity and environmental harmony principles, the space aims to serve as a sanctuary for users seeking serenity.
